Since the mid 80’s back in my school days, photography has always been of interest to me. My Art teacher was running after-school workshops teaching 35mm film processing from start to finish, furthermore my brother worked as a photographer for the local newspaper.

Sadly, for me my interest in photography diminished, mainly due to the cost.

I picked up a 35mm film camera again in my thirties but this never really ignited my interest until I purchased my first digital camera; although the megapixel count was low I was producing some interesting landscape images. I loved the ease of use in digital and having the ability to instantly see what I’d captured. It was just a shame the prints didn’t have the same resolution as the images of today – although I still enjoy looking back through my old images from time to time.

Today my camera equipment is a lot better quality. I really love getting out and about to capture those landscape images, I like the whole process from planning, visiting, capturing and printing my images. I’d like to get into different aspects of photography such as portrait and street, what stops me from doing this is the fact when you point a camera in the direction of people they usually recoil, the result is often disappointing because of this; producing different images from what was being set out to achieve. I’d also like to visit places such as Iceland and spend time visiting Scotland…so watch this photostream!
