I have recently retired from my job in IT, and am pursuing happiness with a camera in my hand. I have loved photography since I was a kid and my Dad got a new camera and handed me his old Ansco and light meter to use. It actually took decent pictures, but I can't say I did. After having cheap cameras for years I finally got a DSLR in 2016 (Nikon D3300 with two lenses). After a couple years of just walking around taking pics with it on Auto no flash, I finally started learning about how to use it properly. Still have a long way to go but it's a fun journey!
As an update to that, after six months of learning how to shoot in other than Auto mode, I realized the D3300 has limitations in terms of controls, low light, and speed. Moved up to a D7500 which is an excellent camera. In spring of 2020 I bought a D780 to get into the full frame body and have a DSLR with the latest tech. That is an amazing camera. Really excellent overall shooting. Fall of 2020 I came across a deal on a used D850 that I could not pass up. Also decided to try out a mirror less camera and picked up a Z5.
