I am originally from North Wales, relocated to Leicester in 1997.

I am a Control Systems Software Engineer (Factory Automation) For my own Company.

I have been a member of Leicester and Leicestershire Photographic Society (L&LPS). Work responsibilities meant I had to put it on hold.

I started photographing with various 35mm cameras from 1978 to 2006. I was reluctant to go Digital, but go digital I did with a Canon EOS 600D which opened up the world to much more creativity. I am now the proud owner of a Canon EOS 80D and a number of lenses. I sometimes use a Panasonic Lumix TZ70 compact (until it was dropped), and if all else fails, my Smart Phone (in RAW mode). I recently purchased a Sony Cybershot RX100 III, very happy with it, especially the fact it fits snugly in your pocket.

I got into the POTD when I sat in a lecture given by Maxwell Law since then I have uploaded a photograph every day to various social media.

Flickr is now my primary POTD account and try to vary the subject daily, sometimes that is NOT easy...
