Simply an amateur photographer that loves to get out with my camera and capture landscapes, but will occasionally have some people and some wildlife in the photos. Any wildlife photos are all of animals that I actually encounter in the wild, and with the exception of domestic pets, I only photograph animals in their natural habbitat. My favourite photoshoots involve aurora photography, with the challenge of capturing the aurora/northern lights in the darkness of night, and will occasionally venture into some other low light settings. My aurora adventures span from the early season in mid August when we have seasonal temperatures to mid winter photoshoots where the temperatures can drop down to -40c and colder, but venturing out into the cold weather is well worth the effort, as that is when you get the best clear, crisp, dark skies that provide for some of the most amazing aurora photos. For digital I use a Canon Rebel T6i and a Canon 5D Mark IV. The decision lately to use one or the other usually depends on the danger level for the camera based on the setting, using the poor little Rebel where there is a greater risk of damage. I also love film as well, and mainly use a Canon FTb as my main film camera, but have recently added to my film equipment the Canonet 28, which is a fun little camera, and the Hongmwi MH-1, which is also a fun and challenging little camera for me. I have also been known to use an iPhone at times. I am sort of a Canon guy :-) , and my favourite photoshoot buddy is my daughter Elizabeth.
