William Young is a writer who lives in Arlington, Virginia. His book The Fascination of Birds: From the Albatross to the Yellowthroat (published by Dover) examines the connections between birds and a broad range of subjects, such as biology, ecology, literature, music, history, politics, economics, religion, geography, physics, chemistry, linguistics, the visual arts, the performing arts, sports, and comedy. He creates videos (www.youtube.com/user/williamyoung42?feature=watch) to make the behavior of birds and other wildlife accessible to a wide audience. He is the co-creator of the website www.MPNature.com, which contains information about the birds, plants, and other wildlife at Monticello Park in Alexandria, Virginia. He has travelled to all seven continents. Most of his Flickr albums deal with birds and natural history, but he also has taken many photos of street art, shop windows, and anything else that has engaged his interest on his adventures in different parts of the world.
