I admire you Sal, because in a way you give us understanding of life all around us. Your work is both artistic and of documentary quality. While your work illustrates the beauty to be found all around us, it also shows people and life, in perhaps a view we don't know about, or don't think about as often as we should. A friend gave me these words, framed and placed in a spot where I see them everyday: "We are not in this world to see through each other, but to see each other through." What a wonderful world this could be if we all had that attitude. I can't thank you enough, for the way I feel whenever I'm learning from you, and spending time in this gallery.

Sal Patalano is an exceptionally talented photographer of street portraiture, not only because of his technical prowess, but also due to his incredible attention to detail. Everything in the frames of his superb portrait is executed with consummate - from the skin tones to the detailed textures in the faces of his subject all the way down to the beautifully composed backdrops. On top of all his marvellous pre and post-production abilities, most importantly he seems to capture very the soul and spirit of his subjects in a natural, spontaneous and appealing fashion.
