A lifelong rail enthusiast, I have been taking pictures of trains on and off since the late 1970s. Pictures from the early years found their way into albums but the vast majority (about 50 films dating from 1984 to the mid 1990s) remain in boxes and haven't seen the light of day since I first got them back from the developers. I am now starting the process of scanning these and uploading them. I have also uploaded some of my dad's slides from the mid 1970s. The quality isn't always great but they provide a wonderful reminder how the railway looked in the British Rail era.
