Ageing wildlife photographer specialising in large predators.

Spent my very early life as a professional dealing with weddings, portraits and children. Now my models are quite unmanageable but never complain, however they are like fashion models and turn up when they feel like it.

I do try to present animals in their best light and will only crop, lighten or darken my pictures as post production. The majority of my photographs are straight from the camera. Why would I spend a small fortune on cameras with huge capabilities only to build a picture in a computer.

There have been times in the Rockies when I have been very close to wildlife but have always tried to give respect and heed the warnings they give. So far we have enjoyed amicable outcomes.

I am a passionate believer in conservation and do accept the need for commercialisation for it to succeed but wish that to be sensitive and not crass as is often the case.

The icon really is me when I worked as a commercial diver just before I retired and yes the gear is heavy especially on a vertical climb.
