Greetings,
my name is Eric Ewert and I'm a passionate photographer. I'm a 23 years young german student and, at the moment, I live with my girlfriend in Erfurt, Thuringia (Status: October 2018).
The photography is a companion for about 3 years now. Every time I took out my camera, I had a great time. But, somehow, my photos didn’t improve for about one year now. Maybe one reasons why I couldn't find a real motivation to make some shots in my everyday life.
In October 2018, I was shown an interview with the photographer Bruce Barnbaum. His work and his opinions were an Inspiration for me, not just because of my passion for the photography of landscapes. On the question “Is there any advice you can give those who want to become better photographers?” he answered: “I think, you just have to concentrate on what’s important to you, because that’s the only place where you’re going to make important statements”
That’s it, I thought. I just have to get an aim, a destination. A kind of project, that means something to me, will get me on the right way to better photographs… But what is important to me? A quite difficult question, and finding a spontaneous answer wasn’t possible. So I picked out all my photographs of the last years, chose my favorites and was looking for a similarity. Something I didn’t know, but what I used and developed subconscious in the last few years.
What I found was that most of my favorite pictures made me smile inside.
So I decided to share my captures with you, with the wish to transmit contents of importance – Be happy instead of sad, always remember your positive experiences, enjoy each day with your eyes wide open, recognize each moment as a chance to do or to be something special. Smile, laugh, have fun, and share your positive energy with others.
I hope that I can give some of my positive energy through my pictures to you. Or at least initiate a little change in your mindset, away from grey thoughts up to some brighter one’s.
