I got my first camera when I was 10 years old and it was a Polaroid. After that, I remember falling in love with old style camera's that required to wind back and focus manually. Years later I was never able to find an affordable high quality camera, so I stuck with camera phones.
My photography experience is basic nature and environmental photos. If I see something that catches my eye, or makes me wonder I will take as many photos of it as possible in hopes I find the one that moved me.
I have never taken a photography classes but I have looked at youtube courses of tips and tricks. For my photography course I will be using a Nikon D3300. I have special close up lenses and a tripod.
I would like to learn how to capture nature in a scientific and artistic way, in order to convey the importance of our environmental welfare. There will be many ways I can contribute these skills to my portfolio and my thesis. I hope to learn how to capture cause and effect on camera.
I am currently environmental science major because I would really like to work outside with the environment. I am currently a science teacher in an amazing Middle School in South Florida. After my last field work course, I have been inspired to collect data on the ocean floor. However my main focus is on the biosphere and my focus is coral health.
I am inspired to help people love this planet again, embrace the wrath of nature and lower the human impact on it. I am also a yoga instructor , avid gardner, and artist. I make clay jewelry that reminds people to connect with our earth more. I also paint using acrylics as a hobby.
My goal is to continue to serve this planet and be an example for everyone to follow. I am continuing to learn more about myself and gain education from multiple resources. I feel blessed that I have the ability to give a voice to those that need it most. Sometimes that voice can be spoken through in art and educating our youth.
