Drag to set position!
I'm a hobbyist photographer, on a continuing learning curve. My photostream contains a wide variety of disparate subjects. In the summer, I visit the public gardens in Ottawa taking shots of peonies, roses, tulips - flowers are a universe to themselves! Also take lots of local landscape: the region has four or five rivers, farmland, a national park, hills and valleys, old barns. When I travel, which is infrequent, I try to take the camera with, but that is not always possible.
My purchase of a Meyer Optik Trioplan lens in the summer of 2017, a modern lens based on a vintage design and famously finicky to focus, sparked a series of studies on bokeh, in a bid to master some new skills. In 2019, I added a second vintage lens, the Minolta MD Rokkor 50mm 1.2, which is a joy to use and somewhat easier to focus manually.
I am inspired by the quality of the best work on Flickr and the huge size of the community. I admire the work of others and I'm interested in learning tips and tricks from others. I especially appreciate photographers who provide specific exif data as it helps us beginners understand some of the tactics you use to get great shots.
Thank you to all those who comment!
