I am a semi-retired amateur wildlife photographer, with a focus on birds and, in the warmer months, dragonflies. I started digital photography over 20 years ago, by digiscoping with a 3 MP camera! In 2006, I got my first DSLR - a Canon 350D and the 400mm f5.6 lens. There then followed a series of Canon DLSRs up to the 7D Mark II which I used until 2020, when I entered the mirrorless era with a R5. Since then I've upgraded to the impressive R5 Mark II.
I live in southern Oxfordshire, UK and much of my photography is now done locally, although I am sometimes tempted further afield often to various photo hides. Previously I did a fair bit of international travel to find birds all over the world, visiting six continents.

As well as many more photos, this has many reports of trips from the places I have visited, including Scotland, Continental Europe, Africa, North and South America, Middle East, Japan, New Zealand, Australia and Sri Lanka.
