I came out of the delivery room in a pink blanket and haven't looked back. My earliest memories are of associating with mom and her world in general. I had my own purse, long gloves, dollies, and I thought those Avon lipstick samplers were the best things ever. My sister and I played house; we were sisters and thought nothing of it.

I adored mom (still do), loved her clothes, wanted to be a secretary just like her; wanted to be her daughter. I had fantasies of going Christmas shopping with her and offering to model dresses she could give as gifts to my aunt or grandmother. I dressed at the sitters every chance I had, whether they knew it or not. My best friends have always been girls; I was SO jealous of their beautiful dresses, makeup, hairdos, heels, and so on. I wanted to go to prom in a gown, and later on to be a bridesmaid, a bride, a wife, a mother. I love super-fem dresses and retro fashions; I adore being called "ma'am"; I have been told more times than I could count that I'll be a great wife some day. I tried so hard to be the person I thought I was supposed to be, not who I wanted to be. I finally accepted that I AM a girl, no matter what I appear to be to the world, so now I just try to be me...I am accepted as a fem person; the other ladies and I gossip and share shopping tips, lady advice and so on. I hope to gently and simply become just another girl some day.

I love being a girly gurl.
