The Strategic Heritage Plan (SHP) project - renovation of the historic Palais des Nations in Geneva - was conceptualized in 2013 and approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations in December 2015 with a total project budget of CHF 836.5 million.

The project, scheduled to be completed in 2028, includes the three phases below:

- the construction of a new sustainable office building

- the comprehensive renovation and modernization of the historical buildings of the Palais des Nations

- the dismantling of the office tower above conference building “E”.
