Fond memories of loved ones and experiences.

This Flickr account - walsh1861 Walsh" and group Walsh1861Group, was set up by John Tarpey [the elder!] (son of Vincent Peel/Tarpey & Veronica Tarpey nee Houghton) in 2016, added to in 2021. The Walsh1861Group was set up as a depositary for our and family pictures, for any Family member to access (via a Flickr acct). "My acct" has been set up to allow any family member to access and if they wish to send me pictures to add.

Thanks to Cousin, John Tarpey (the younger) and Paul Thornton (my Brother in Law) for their help with Family Tree information, pictures, documents and there help in the development of this idea.

On "my account" I have put a structure in place, where each family member has an Album (other family albums can be added). It's up to others to decide if they want there own Flickr acct and what they do with their own Flickr acct page. Some family members have sent me pictures by e mail/Whats App, to add to either to my Flickr account (and Family Albums) or the "Family Group". I will add any pic where I can.

It is important to remember that all websites are hackable, so if you add personal information, it is at your own risk. Please do not add personal addresses, e mail and numbers. Numerous documents including deceased details, are already in the public domain, so some of these have been added here.

I have separate Flickr accounts, for our "non family" collection of photo's (holidays/biking etc). Each account can hold 1000 pictures for free. Pictures can be held privately if needed, if anyone does not wish to share some of their pics with family or friends, depending on settings chosen. Each person can make some or all of their pictures public. Each person (when a friend or familiy member), can see each others accounts and can add pictures from others accts as "favourites", on to their own acct. Accts can be linked to your data on devices, uploaded automatically or via Facebook or other "devils work" sites (lol)! You can use the Flickr Phone App. It is easy to digitalise all of your hard copy pictures, by taking pics from your phone and uploading 20-50 etc in one go (use the Cloud symbol and follow your nose).

Once you open an acct search "walsh1861" and then search "people" for "walsh1861", start to "follow" me, I can then follow you. Once "following", you can set a person as Friend or Family (hover cursor right of "following") or go to "people" under "You" on main header bar. I set all, as Family members and send then an invite to the "Walsh1861Group", so they can upload direct to it, once they accept the invite.

Picture descriptions can be added on mass before or after up loading or done individually. It certainly helps other familiy members to know/learn who is who. So far, I've concentrated on Pictures and a few documents, I will start adding names, places & stories where I know them and I'll add a better Family Tree when I can. Please advise me of any mistakes I've made, when not wearing my Specs!

Should other family members wish to join in on their own Flickr accounts, such that any family member can be linked to view each others pictures on each others accts, then we will collectively have the ability of 1000 pics each!

Each person can then add their own pictures to their acct and add pictures from their account to the "Walsh1861Group" (see criteria for older pictures).

The goal is to establish this group - "Walsh1861Group", so it can be accessed by every family member without the need for a Flickr account and any IT skills! The Group "Walsh1861Group" was initially set up as a depository for all of my/our family older pictures at my Parents, Grand and Great Grand Parent level - so the more black and white pictures, names, descriptions & stories the better.

Any advice on format or use would be appreciated, I am still learning how to use Flickr myself! Please let me know if we have put pictures in the wrong place or with an incorrect date or name, and if anybody wishes to have something sensitive removed please let me know, by using message envelope.
