What happens when a mixed media artist turns to photography? One result of my somewhat maverick approach to creative learning and the tools required was the accidental creation of innovative composite images - my 'photo art'. The results of my efforts to refine this method are here on flickr.

I still think like a painter. I tend to ignore conventional landmarks and most photographic genres, and look for things in mainly urban areas that I would paint - strong compositions in architecture, striking shadows and colour combinations, reflected light, peeling painted doors, overflowing waste bins… Useful photos to create my photo art can come from anywhere.
