Being in the countryside and observing the different seasons and the way the light plays across the landscape is a joy, as is capturing images as the seasons change.

A Box Brownie and a small Eastman Kodak folding camera, introduced me to the delights and disappointments of film photography.

A 35 mm Kodak Coloursnap purchased in the 1960’s and a Canonet 28 in the 1970’s, followed and then having discovered that I like having control over aperture and shutter speed, I bought a Minolta

7000i SLR in the 1990’s.

My current digital cameras are a a Fuji S8000f, (bridge), and the delightful Fuji X100F. I use film in a Minolta 7000i and my Canonet 28.

I now recognize Margaret's photos in my daily flickr feed, partly because of the balanced light, the clarity, and the subject matter - pastoral scenes often with mist or silvery light, and partly because of the mood of the images. They tend to be calming yet vibrant scenes that make me want to step into the photos and look around. Margaret could be a flickr ambassador, she is a quintessential example of the thoughtfulness and sincerity that keeps me engaged here. I don't pay too much attention to numbers of likes, but I do pay attention to comments, especially comments from people who understand photography and nature, and can reflect on significant photos with insight and enthusiasm. This is Margaret's gift. She has the experience and knowledge to offer helpful or interesting comments. And this, for me, is the key to a sense of community. I highly recommend spending time with her stream.

Margaret is not only an excellent photographer but also very supportive, encouraging and perceptive in her comments on other Flickr members' photos. She always takes time to make meaningful comments and always replies to comments made by others on her photos. It is a privilege to have her as a contact
