I am a professional research scientist in human genetics. I reside between Montreal, Quebec, and Newfoundland, Canada. I am interested in the relationship between the natural and man-made environments, so my photographs are generally either landscape or "urban landscape" in subject. I use either a Canon DSLR or a Bronica GS-1 medium format film camera. Film negatives are scanned and digitized. I try to do as little image manipulation in Photoshop as possible, usually just adjustment of levels (equivalent to dodging and burning in the old days), minimal sharpening, and a bit of increased saturation for color pix. I prefer not to saturate colors too strongly, as that is not how my eyes see things.
