At a very early age, my parents and grandparents instilled in me a love of nature so wildlife photography is a natural fit for me. I taught seventh grade science for several years before becoming an elementary school administrator and now I am happily retired!
I bought my first DSLR in 2004, but really never learned how to use the camera until a pair of bald eagles started nesting here in my hometown! I quickly realized if I wanted to get quality images, I must learn how to shoot in manual mode and shoot raw. Needless to say, I had a very steep learning curve. But with the help of friends and countless hours of watching tutorials on YouTube, my images began to improve.
I love photographing all wildlife, but birds are my passion. I spend many hours here on our family land, which has two spring fed creeks running through our property, looking for opportunities to capture The Lord’s creations. It is the combination of just loving the outdoors, the awe-inspiring beauty in nature, my very supportive husband and family that keeps me pushing that shutter button!
