Ermanno Muolo

I am a professional filmmaker and photographer based in Bologna,Italy. The urgency for photography was born recently, in 2018, through street photography, but immediately devoted to portraiture.

I started instinctively to photograph people on the street, women in particular, approaching them with a smile, surprising them but without hiding, looking for an immediate and sincere interaction. I then began to recreate the same spontaneous situations with agreed-upon shots. I am interested in portraying universal femininity in its everyday relevance, in gestures and situations that are even banal but as authentic as possible. My aim, simply, is to combine spontaneity with attention to detail: to create posed shots that look stolen and stolen shots that look posed.
