I grew up in a very small Appalachian town in Southern Ohio, far away from the art and culture of the city. My first step into an art career began with a scholarship to Columbus College of Art & Design in Columbus, Ohio.

My interests were never directed towards obtaining a degree. I wanted to see the world, view famous art and experience different cultures. So, I set out alone on a series of adventure that took me to Italy, France, Greece, Sweden, Mexico, Canada and the U.S.A. southwest. I never had much money during those days but I had a plan that worked. I would produce a body of work, have a show, sell the work, then take the money and go on a trip. I would stay until I was broke, come home and start the process all over again. Those experiences and the changes in my life have influenced and altered my work many times throughout my forty plus year career. I spent over nine years seeking answers to life, which resulted in a large number of Visionary art works titled, “Journey of the Spirit”.
