Hi, Michael here. I am a technical artist and engineer. I started doing concrete polishing, staining, pool transformations, patio transformation, etc. about 10 years ago when I was remodeling and re-selling houses. Then the crash hit SO CA. Transform boring or distressed concrete. That look is IN. It is practical, cheaper than other durable flooring, you avoid the carpet mites and odor, and it looks chic! It is also LEED certified. Businesses are going this route too. Home Depot, Lowes, Costco, major restaurants, clubs, salons, residences, tech businesses, schools, etc. Significant savings! Check out concretenetwork.com and look up concrete floors versus other flooring options. Area rugs on concrete floors are much healthier than carpet and linoleum. BTW, I don't recommend epoxy floors where moisture or high traffic is an issue. They scuff, exfoliate, and are uv-sensitive.
