I don't use filters or airbrushing on my pictures unless otherwise stated - the most I will do is crop, or alter contrast, brightness and gamma levels. My photos are 100% me. I do take a lot of pictures to pick out the best ones, and I discard the ones I'm not keen on. There are a lot more discarded than kept! ;-)

Hi, my name is Emily and I was somewhat of a late starter on this path, but I'm ok with that. I think I was probably better equipped to deal with the ups and downs of my self-acceptance and subsequent transition at this age, than I would have been, say, in my teens or twenties. Allowing Emily into my life has made me a happier person, and given me a way to understand and embrace who I am which has brought me a good degree of inner peace.

I'm a much better and nicer peson than I used to be and these days I am well disposed to the world. I'm friendly and smiley, and I have found that the vibe you give out comes back to you in spades. I love my life. I get on well with people, and people seem to respond well to me and like me back.

I am not here looking for dates or a partner. I only do social meets in public. I used to be a regular at Leeds First Friday although since the end of 2023 it has been a much less common event. I would still say that if you're looking to take your first steps out in public, LFF is the best event to go to for that.

I spend a lot of time with my best friend Gemma an we have been to lots of different places such as Newcastle, Birmingham, Lincoln, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Wakefield, Leicester, Sheffield and lots more. I'm out and about quite regularly in my home town of Hull as well, most often with my wonderful bestie Gemma ( Gemma_Louise_Smith ).

These days Gemma and I are not so regular at LGBT events. We go anywhere, so these days we do more live comedy (we have done so much live comedy!), music gigs, theatre and just weekends in different towns and cities. We have positive experiences everywhere we go and we always meet lovely people.

I also sing in a choir, which I joined in September 2023. It has been one of the most uplifting and joyous things I have ever done! As I write this, I am less than 2 weeks away from singing with the choir to a sold-out Hull City Hall where there will be around 350 of us singing to over 1000 people! And earlier on in the year, Coldplay played 2 gigs in my home city of Hull. They saw our choir doing a performance of their song Fix You on TikTok and were so impressed that they gave us 120 free tickets to see the gigs - and they gave out choir a shoutout both nights from the stage ('We see you up there, that amazing choir we saw on TikTok!'). The choir has also been wonderful for me because there, I'm just one of the women in the alto section. My gender, my trans-ness, has never come into it.

I'm now full-time and post-op. I changed my name and went full-time in 2019. Surgery was March 2023.

I'm very lucky to have the support of my friends and family, as well as having made so many wonderful friends within the trans community. The acceptance and welcome I had when I took my first steps into the wide world is a debt I can never hope to repay, and the positive change of perspective being a part of it has provided is something I try to pass along to others who are on similar paths. I always try to be supportive and sympathetic - our community is so vulnerable to depression and worse, I feel it is our duty to look out for one another and offer support where we can.

I have never been a very active sexual person, and I have come to realise that I had dysphoria which makes me unable to be comfortable in sexual situations with anyone, with the body I used to have. I consider myself to be asexual. If you're interested in trans women because of that little extra, you are totally looking in the wrong place here. Sorry!

Other stuff about me - I like a fair bit of geeky stuff. Science fiction - especially dystopian or post-apocalyptic, and 'hard' sci-fi. I'm interested in science and engineering, especially space stuff, astronomy, cosmology, quantum theory too. I like lots of comedy, a few examples being 15 Storeys High, Saxondale, Trailer Park Boys, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks And Recreation, The Office (Both the UK and US versions), It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Blackadder, Bottom, The Young Ones, Spaced, Malcolm In The Middle, People Of Earth, What We Do In The Shadows, Ghosts (both the UK and US ones) - a wide variety. I enjoy stand-up too. Cartoons as well - current favourites are Bob's Burgers, Rick And Morty, South Park. I don't drink but I am 420 friendly. I like girly nights out dancing to cheesy 80s hits. I like intelligent conversation and silliness too. I like nice people who make the world a better more positive place. I put a high value on honesty, openness and empathy. And I love the feeling of pure joy that being Emily brings me.

I always try to see everyone in a positive light and try never to judge or speak ill of others.
