Beginning in 2013, the John D. O'Bryant African American Institute Library began a digitization initiative, to preserve and share its 10,000+ photograph collection. This was a key step in the 2014 transition, from a circulating library, to a secured Special Collection.

Now, upon our 50th anniversary, we have begun the second phase of the project, sharing our rich history with our community, and beyond, as well as building a digital platform, for communication and networking between us, that spans JDOAAI generations.

Who's Who of the Tute will be brought to you in quarterly volumes, featuring images spanning our beginnings in the late 1960's, to present day, featuring current students, alumni and staff. We as one JDOAAI community, are preserving our history and creating our own narrative, but we need your insights! Please help with this initiative by tagging any known information to these photographs. Together, we can tell our story of Black excellence at Northeastern University!
