With my Kodak Instamatic I was the photo documenterian of the times with friends living in Covina, California during the early 70's. That interest in photography led me to purchase a Pentax Spotmatic IIA, 35mm camera and to take photography and photo journalism classes at Mt. SAC Jr. College in Walnut, California. Afterwards, with the help of a friend, a Caltech Wiz Kid and brilliant aerospace engineer; Craig, I got my first job as an Industrial Photographer with the now defunct Western Gear Aerospace company in the City of Industry, California. After ten years of employment at Western Gear I became employed as a Industrial Photographer with McDonnell Douglas Aerospace at their Electronics Systems Division in Monrovia, California. After Boeing purchased McDonnell Douglas they closed the Electronic Systems Division and I went on to become employed for quite a number of years in a miserable job doing sales support and serving as a program manger for a fledgling inkjet paper company. Fortunately a friend and mountain biking pal, Pierre, took me under his wing and trained me to become a Legal Video Specialist; which I have done for the past twelve years. Now I've started to do photography for fun again and I'm trying to get through the digital learning curve. Since all my past still photography experience was with film, I've got some new lessons to learn. I do miss the old days and smell of Dektol and fixer in the morning though.
