Hello and I'm Eric. I am a composer and a steadily progressing photographer. My first camera was a Yashica TL-Electro SLR that was actually my father's. I forgot about photography for a few decades until a few years ago.

The old spark re-ignited when I asked my sister what camera I should buy to document my musical projects using stills and video. She suggested a camera that I thought was way beyond my ability (Sony a6000).

I protested, saying I wanted something more basic and point-and-shooty, but she said, "you'll figure it out." I stayed on "A" mode for a long time, but then as I began to want to shoot more landscapes, I grew restless to explore what other modes were available on the dial.

And now, I've had quite a few different cameras since. One of my favorites is an old Nikon FE-2 SLR from 1983. It is fun to hear that old mechanical "clap" of the shutter and the "zzzzz" of winding to the next frame with my thumb. It reminds me of that old Yashica when I was 12.

Photography, like music, can bring back that old "original spirit" from when you were a kid - back when the world seemed infinitely large and all you wanted to do was explore it forever.
