I try to shoot without using flash

Flickr is like having a wall to hang pictures or a projection screen for your slides but no one is forced to watch them. And the photographer doesn't have to hear the audience groan. I learned of Flickr from one of my contacts currently using the screen name "addiefreja". who isn't much active on Flicker now.

So I just take pictures to show people things I see around town that seem interesting to me at the time. I am surprised sometimes at how many other people see and shoot exactly the same scenes that I think are obscure, and usually I delete those photos from my stream if there are too many like them posted by others.

I am able to partake of digital photography and display the results because my sister and her husband originally gave me the tools of the trade,computer and digital cameras.. Otherwise, I'd still be using film and the pictures would be in a box somewhere unseen by anyone.

As of mid 2010 I began using a digital camera,a Canon PowerShot, I found in my apartment building's trash room. Someone threw out a set of a camera and other parts and bag.The camera had a problem turning on sometimes which seems to have corrected with use. It was more complicated than my past cameras but it allowed manual adjustment which comes in handy often. Finding that camera was timely since my previous one broke down after only a few months of use.Research shows that the model,a Fuji Finepix, often has zoom failure which is what happened to mine.

My first digital Canon camera survived several hard landings and a total immersion. However, it was killed a few days after Hurricane Sandy in October '12 when I was doing some cleanup work.. After a few weeks I bought a similar but slightly updated model on EBAY and resumed picture taking but at less rate than before since not much has been going on around here lately that I feel is worth posting.

Flickr changed things on May 21 2013 which prevents me from seeing anyone's photostream,including mine. I also can't see activity or comments,can't upload photos and this happened just as my pro account was about to renew. They gave me three months extension on my previous pro account so I think it was done to coincide with changes on May 21. I presume everyone's photostreams and features are still viewable on other devices so I'll lkeep my pro account active for now. However,I don't know when I'll be able to fully use Flickr again.(end of that section-update in next section)

As of August '13 I have been using Flickr through Firefox browser for about two months but tonight I had a problem with uploading there so I went back to Flickr through my old Explorer 6 browser and after some searching with the mouse I found the upload feature although it is hidden but I was able to upload some photos through the old system. So the functions are still there but they are not always visible..

still alive,had been off internet for about one year after home computer problem cut off my internet. I used computers in nearby library for a few months but was not able to post pictures there.

As of May 2016 I use a portable tablet through which photo uploading to flickr is easy. I am not posting as much on Flickr as in earlier years,but I do post photos on Facebook.

My first tablet has long since died, my current one I don't really use for photos. I still use an older digital camera and upload through a home PC.

Lately I haven't done much uploading. The new coins I often post are not coming to me as frequently as in the past. I still post photos of record albums but mostly on Facebook. And an occasional interesting car is seen and I post that.. I moved to a lower floor in my building last summer so I can't take as many skyline photos as I once did.
