My interest in photography really started when I began photographing trains in the 1970s. I have several thousand slides and digital images spanning over 45 years. I've set up this account simply to share my railway photographs, many of which are record shots or pictures of poorer quality which haven't made it onto my SydPix www.flickr.com/photos/sydpix page and may be of interest to other railway enthusiasts.

There isn't any particular plan to all this; photos will appear in a fairly random order. I've created Groups for each class, so if you want to try and find a particular favourite, just do a number search and you hopefully will find what you're after. Similarly with locations, a particular place can be found by using the search facility. It's going to take a fair old time to get everything on here, so for a while some classes may be a bit thin on the ground. Please keep checking back though and hopefully I'll eventually have a reasonable library of material. If you have something particular you'd like to see on here, send me a message and if I've got it, I'll post it. Anyone wanting to use anything for websites or publications, just drop me a line and I'll be happy to help.

Obviously I'm pleased you are looking at my photos, but they are all © Richard Young so please don't post them on other sites or use them anywhere without a link back to where they came from. If you would like to use any, it would be courteous to drop me a Flickr mail first.

Disappointingly, I am now finding people are posting copies of my photos to other websites and claiming them to be their own work. Although I am fairly relaxed about the use of my photos, I consider this to be theft of my intellectual property. In any instance where someone wrongly claims to be the owner of any of my photos I reserve the right to charge the person responsible for passing it off as their work a minimum of £30 for each image used in such a manner.
