Thank you for your interrest & visiting my account.

Since my teenage years, i was heavily into music & fine arts of all kind.

I started photography in 2004 when a colleague at work wanted to "get rid of" his old Nikon 990.

(Jazz) live music photography quickly emerged as a preferred subject and became also the driving force behind a progressive, but almost entirely self-taught, technical professionalization and joy of experimentation.

So particulary on the music side of things, my choice of subject is mostly determined by a heartfelt connection.

I´m not just a "pro"-photographer in serach for a spectacular motife.

Among others, i worked at and for:

Jazzweekend Regensburg, Bayerisches Jazzinstitut, Augsburger Jazzsommer, Jazz Club Augsburg, Bardentreffen Nürnberg, Bayerischer Musikrat, Sparks & Visions International Jazzfestival...

All my multiples are done "in camera" in the moment and inspired by what happens at stage visually & musically.

So the result is quite instinctive & can´t be "arranged" after the fact. I think this is nicely in accordance to JAZZ (specifically of the free/experimental kind which i do love), as this music too is improvised on the spot & either isn´t repeatable at will.

Some of my B&W´s are made to resemble expressionistic wood-cuts.

In this technique there is ONLY black OR white, nevertheless it can yield very strong, impactful portraiture. So when there is no critical information lost & the clean white helps accentuating shapes - i don´t care for "correct" exposure in processing.
