What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxUWLaCrosse, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

What is the history of TEDx at UWL?

We held our first TEDxUWLaCrosse event, "Turning Points", in November, 2013 with six live speakers and a collection of TED videos curated by our student emcees. Our 2014-2015 event, "What Makes Us Pause", was held January 29, 2015. TEDxUWLaCrosse has been happily housed and generously supported by UWL Murphy Library since 2015.

Our TEDxUWLaCrosse Organizing Committee meets bi-weekly; please contact us if you have questions or suggestions for our upcoming event at tedx@uwlax.edu.
