Welcome to my Flickr site. I hope you enjoy your journey through my portfolio. It mostly comprises scanned film slides covering the period 1967 - 2009 and Canon digital SLR images from 2009 to date. A few images are from scanned black and white/colour negatives, a Panasonc Lumix bridge camera and a Samsung Galaxy phone.

I have been into photography on and off since the 1960s when I first used a camera to record the then fast disappearing British steam railway scene which I so enjoyed. I started out with a Kodak Brownie 127 followed by an Agfa Instamatic and Olympus Trip 35. None of these cameras proved entirely satisfactory for anything other than family snaps so in the mid-1980s I graduated to film SLRs, firstly with Olympus OM40 Programs and shortly after with the Olympus OM4Ti which was a truly excellent camera. In 2009 I converted to digital using mainly Canon EOS gear, at that stage an EOS 5D Mk2 and a 50D. I then upgraded to the 5D Mk4 and the 7D Mk2 before changing again to the R5 with a variety of lenses in 2021. My favourite subjects are natural history, landscapes and steam railways and they form the mainstay of the images on this site.

I hope anyone looking at my portfolio derives enjoyment from what they see.
