Hey there, name's Alex. First camera I used was a measly 2.0 megapixels, and it was attached to a Sony Ericsson W850i mobile phone which I first used when I was 10. Within 5 years I had grown significantly more proficient, having owned two "real" cameras in the form of an Olympus that my father never used, and a Lumix which I somehow managed to break on the first day I used it. Though I'm primarily an automotive photographer, something which I aim to maintain over the coming years (and potentially decades!), I'm a sucker for a great shot in general. Many of my favorite photos don't have a single car in them at all.
Presently I'm on what I'd call a "temporary" camera i.e. a relatively cheap bridge camera that takes much larger, higher-clarity photos than my previous compact. I also tend to use my sister's Nikon which produces sharper pictures but at a smaller resolution and often not accurately recording the color or brightness information (red is often displayed as a bright pink) and am constantly learning how to better operate my equipment. Ideally I'd want an EOS or Sony Alpha, but those are way out of my price bracket and use obsolescent rechargeable batteries instead of good old AAs/LR6s.
Following Doney M's rule changes (how about purging 0 photo accounts that haven't been used since 2007 or deleting those with known copyright violations?), I paid my 50bux for storage space, stats, and a little elitist placard underneath my name. Ain't gonna be that easy to get rid of me. Ironically I'm protesting the draconian 1,000 max photos for free users based on a heavily skewed average by paying to store all of mine. Maybe one day things will go back to as they were.
