My interest in photography began as a child taking photos with a 620/120 folding camera. Later I did photography with a SLR camera and learned to use the darkroom. I was fortunate to work in the darkroom and was taught by Richard Gordon who photographed for the GEO magazine and filmed and produced landmark films on China (www.tsquare.tv/longbow/). I furthered my interest in photography by visiting galleries and building a collection of photo books. My involvement in photography intensified when I purchased DSLR cameras three years ago. My photos have been used by the Fiends of Mount Moriah (friendsofmountmoriahcemetery.org/) and the Philadelphia Magazine (www.phillymag.com/news/2016/07/30/mount-moriah-cemetery-f...). I take photos of many different people , groups, & events as a documentary photographer and my photos are not necessarily intended to be endorsement or approval. I was one of 7 photographers in the 100th issue of the online photography magazine "The Inspired Eye. I also was named as one of the 11 best street photographers in Philadelphia: www.peerspace.com/resources/street-photographers-philadel....

Mexicans, Mummers, kids, workmen, pretty ladies - they all smile and seem genuinely happy when David takes their photo. Why? Well, I've never met the guy, but I guess he is so pleasant, likeable and polite, that strangers relax and gladly have their photo taken. He was the second photographer that I followed on Flickr. I was first captured by his photos of Philadelphia Mummers. His many photos of children are always sweet, charming and capture my heart. He goes everywhere in the USA - South Dakota, Memphis, the Midwest and shoots great photos. Cozumel, Mexico, seems to be his second home. I never knew Mexicans were so open and friendly. I know little of the technicalities of photography but I've been a life-long people watcher. David, somehow,, finds and photographs fascinating folks, great faces, and they always smile.
