My artistic drive is fueled by how I experience time in a particular space. My imagery is part documentary, part meditation. As such, much of my subject matter is documentary, mundane, or what may be overlooked. My goal is a deeper connection with that moment in time or place—an inspiration to be there and present—to maybe take the time to wonder while the scene unfolds, if even for a brief moment. In my practice, I focus on in-camera techniques during capture to achieve my compositions—including live action events I have had the privilege of photographing. I aim to use interesting reflections, or shutter speeds suitable for showing the passage of some occurrence through the scene—to illustrate a connection between time, place, and the interesting ways they can intersect. Some of my more recent work has been exploring and documenting “proof” of the simulation theory—the idea that we live in a simulation and reality is projected to us. I hope to create imagery that will inspire others to question not only their place in time, but also space.
