A lil bit about Chainmaille:

Handcrafted using jewelry techniques developed over the centuries in East Asia and in Europe. Each piece is created by winding and cutting precious metal wire into thousands of tiny rings. The rings are then hand-woven together one by one to create intricate and unique chainmaille patterns.
