I kind of ‘fell’ into photography by accident, but when I did fall, I fell head over heels!

Maria Mitchell is an artist in love with colour and storytelling, she sees beauty in her everyday surroundings, colours become brighter and lines more vivid.

Maria’s extensive body of work ranges from Irish landscapes which highlight our local beauty, to huge vibrant cityscapes with skies capturing the aspirations of remarkable cities, through to figurative paintings inspired by the grace and elegance of the female form.

Maria’s work has been extensively shown throughout the United Kingdom, Ireland and most recently New York, her figurative work was hired for psychological crime drama “The Fall” made and set in Belfast.

As part of Maria's painting journey, she has experienced the joy of photography. This journey has allowed her to capture the varied emotional and physical moods of her every changing surroundings; from nature to architectural buildings to street life it all enhances her everyday life.
