I am a photographer from Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. I take photos for fun and enjoyment. I like to get out with my camera to take photos of birds and plants, so I can identify them later on.

I do like to take photos of where I live, travel and visit. I take my camera with me most places I go. I like to photograph landscapes, plants, birds, botanic gardens, forests, the coast and beach. I use my Olympus OMD EM1 Mark 3 camera with two zoom lenses.

My interest in photography started in high school, where I had a great physics teacher who taught us how to take and develop photos in the school’s makeshift dark room. We took photos with strobe lights of balls falling off a bench so we could measure acceleration from the photos we took. So this was my introduction to photography. I was given a Pentax K1000 camera by my parents. Using this camera developed my understanding of aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how they work. This camera was simple and robust and a great way to learn the technical aspects of photography. After all, it was a fully manual camera.

When I took up digital photography, I started with an Olympus OMD-EM 10, a micro four thirds camera. I have been developing my skills in both photography and photo processing.

While the photo is the result of my photography, I like to search for subjects and scenes to photograph. The discovery of things to photograph is as much fun as taking the photo.
