I think of photography as a way to express yourself through the single press of a button. You must achieve exactly what you want through one picture where as painting you guide the paintbrush exactly where you think that it . Sure you can alter the photo using tools like Photoshop but you still incorporate that single snapshot I find photography a more interesting form of art because I am astonished at what people are able to create with it. My favorite types of photos involve water (preferably rain). Rain photos are usually associated with the colors blue and black, these colors really intrigue me and also provide an opportunity to use brighter colors. I have not yet been able to achieve a good water shot. I’m also going to incorporate street lights in the photo adding some points of interest.

I have been taking an intro photography class this past quarter and I’m signed up for another photography class titled Creative Photography. This class is going to incorporate Layer Masks which will expand my horizons and different creative techniques. Adding layer masks to a photo is a really creative way of creating the illusion of reality blinding with fantasy. This class will help me to discover ways to do this.

I never liked portraits due to the utter lack of interest that somebody's face has to me. I do enjoy when somebody does something creative with a portrait such as manipulating somebody’s face. Coming up with more creative ways to use Photoshop incorporating portraits is a goal of mine. I always did enjoy a good face ruining.
