I started railfanning in the early 1980s in Charleston, SC, my hometown. My father dabbled in photography, and I started shooting with his old Mamiya Sekor 1000DTL for my first "real" camera after starting with a Kodak Disc that Santa brought. I still shoot 35 mm slides to this day, and scan them with a Nikon Coolscan V-ED. Chattanooga, TN is now home, but as you see from my photos, I still travel extensively. Shortlines are my primary interest, and in 2018, I am approaching 300 lines visited.
