The Village of Holly is located in Northern Oakland County Michigan approximately fifteen minutes south of Flint Michigan. The Village of Holly is a small community of 6,086 residents. During the Holiday season and special events; population can increase by 2,000 according to the chamber of commerce. The Village’s economy depends largely on the tourist drawn by our historic downtown area shops and restaurants, and the annual events held in the Village.
The Village of Holly Fire Department was formed in 2004; our department’s primary response area is 3 square miles consisting of residential, light & heavy industrial, commercial, and rural. On average the department responds to approximately 800 fire and medical calls for service including mutual aid request to other area departments. We provide 24/7 response for all types of emergencies including Fire Suppression, Rescue Services, HazMat Operations, Technical services; and BLS medical care and transport. The fire department also provides fire prevention services to 5 local schools, and two senior living centers.
The fire department has 20 active paid-on-call members, including medical only personnel. There is a minimum of three personnel assigned to the Night Duty Shift who are responsible for responding from their homes to the station to get equipment and then go to the call for service between the hours of 7:00pm to 5:00am.
