I'm into hillwalking and mountaineering and for many years I just used the smallest and lightest camera I could get hold of. But I kept saying to myself that one day I would buy a DSLR to capture some decent images. When that day came I got a Nikon D7000 and some Nikon glass and really enjoyed using the kit. So much so that I then treated myself to a Nikon D800E.

I fully expected to expand my portfolio of landscape photographs, which I did. But a strange thing happened along the way - I also got just as interested in wildlife photography. So I now attempt to balance my time between these two equally enjoyable areas of photography.

Of course, the best camera is the one you have with you and from this point of view a lot of my images are taken with an iPhone.
