His family photographs, however cheerful, are sad to me because they remind me of all the lives that could have been from the hell that his pals never returned from alive. He deserves all the semper-fi greetings from his buddies. His works her depict how much he appreciates each and every day and I am sure they will continue to do so. Keep tuning in.

Eric, Did your team ever accompany any aircraft recovery teams. I was on my squadrons and we sometimes had a recon team accompany us to crash sites to recover or destroy crashed birds. One in particular I remember was a cobra that went down in Happy Valley around late spring or summer 1970. The 46 I was on dropped into the jungle and Recon appeared like magic from the jungle. You guys always impressed the crap outta me. Always felt better when you or the grunts were with us. If you go to my pictures you'll see a picture of my uncle who was in 1st paramarines. They were the predessors of recon. Semper Fi, brother.

I cannot express how indebted I feel to Eric. I thank him profusely for gracing flickr with his wonderful personality and stunning photographs. I also thank him profusely for serving the country, in a war where the returning vets did not get the thanks that they deserved. He is a very special photographer, as I don't know many people who take pictures in the face of death and mortal danger in a strange and treacherous land. Its great to have Eric on the site and cheers!

How many times did we bump into each other at the 1stMarDiv mess hall. How many times did we pass each other at Freedom Hill. How many times did we leave LZ401 on the same day. And the tiger incident. No one would have ever believed me, without your similar story - and the photo. Great having you as a Contact....and a Friend......brother. Semper Fi, Marine!

Eric is an amazing man and a great artist. He saw that he could capture through art, one of the most strenuous (mentally and physically) experiences any person can, when most of us would just be hoping to stay alive. After being thrown into 'Nam, he bought a camera and learned to use it, well. You can clearly see his talent throughout the many phases of his life in his photos, as well as the joy his family brings him. Cheers to you Eric.
