I am happily married and have been for 52+ years.. I'm retired and spend my time with my wife, fitness, photography, pickle ball, and granddaughters (whenever they will; they're teens now). I'm formerly from KnoxvilleTN, but have lived in Texas for 45 years now.... I call myself a "naturalized Texan". I do miss East Tennessee, though; its so beautiful there!

I bought a Pentax Spotmatic in 1971, and started snapping pictures incessantly (I still have that camera sitting on a shelf in my office). I now have a Nikon D7100 and a Fujifilm X100s. I love street photography (but am a bit too shy to do much of it), so I do a lot of nature/landscapes/architectural photography.

I use a 17-55mm/f2.8 on the D7100.. I also have an 80-200mm f/2.8 zoom for sports and event photography (it's SO heavy, I don't often carry it) .... my favorite landscape & urban lens is the Tokina 11-20mm f/2.8 zoom...it is as sharp as the 80-200, and I love the 14-point stars it gives in night shots....

The D7100 is by far the more flexible of the two, but I really love the Fujifilm X100s.... it's more difficult to use, the autofocus is a little problematic, but when this camera is "on it", it is fantastic!! Sharp and clear images, vivid colors, and various film simulations to choose from. I love it!! And it's so small and light, that I probably take it with me 60% of the time, while the Nikon stays at home.

My post-processing work flow is on an Apple Mac Mini with the M1 chip; I use LR 5 initially, then take that result to PS Elements 2021; with-in Elements I use NIK collection, especially Dfine2 and Color Efx4...If noise is still a problem at that point, I'll use Topaz Denoise. . You see that I fell victim to the HDR craze; for a time, I used Photomatix Pro, but I've never liked what it does to foliage, and I find that I get inconsistent results with it; it's very difficult to control halo-ing.... So many photos that are hdr-enhanced are stunning, but it's sure easy to over-cook a photo. I have begun to limit my post-processing to LR5... I find that some MILD hdr-style tweaking in LR5 is more than sufficient for my tastes.

I love browsing photos on Flickr!! I learn a lot! I love FAVS; and comments, even if negative. Up to a point, I will follow most anyone who follows me; but I'm not out to get 1000's of followers... I can't keep up with 1000's of good and great photo enthusiasts posting several pictures everyday.... I suspect most of you don't seek praise and recognition; I don't. If I praise your pics on Flickr, please don't feel the need to reciprocate.

Many thanks to all of you who view, FAV, and comment on my photographs!!
