I've been taking photographs most of my life, from about age 9 or 10 -- starting with a little Brownie Starmite -- and just can't seem to get enough. Much of my work has been shared only with friends and family, so going public is an interesting step for me.

I have rather eclectic tastes in what I like to look at, but the general tag of "nature photography" probably covers pretty well what I enjoy doing the most. I savour the seasons, the weather and the incredible beauty and complexity of the natural world. I love light, colour, texture, shape and a good, strong composition, but I also appreciate a good story and a little mystery and magic, not the easiest things to bring to an image.

The things that give me pleasure are a playground of contradictions. I love to travel but I also love to be at home. My soul is in the mountains where I've chosen to live, but I find joy in the wide-open skies of the prairies, the damp, green whispers of the rainforest and the crisp colours and textures of rock and sand in the arid regions of the world. I couldn't live without the clean air and silence of natural places but I enjoy small doses of urban energy -- the hustle and bustle of cities. Somehow, it's all good.

Thanks for your views, faves and comments. I do appreciate an honest response and am always learning as I go. If some of my images have given you a moment of enjoyment -- wonderful!
