"One should not only photograph things for what they are, but for what else they are.” – Minor White
My mind is a messy place, filled with lost moments, desultory dreams, and scraps of insecurities. I make photographs in order to connect the dots between what’s rattling around my head and what lies in front of me in the real world. My images, regardless of subject matter, are often personal metaphors that help me understand what I am experiencing in my mind at that moment. I work mainly in monochrome because I find that removing color clarifies and reveals what may not be immediately obvious in a subject’s actual physical form. My hope is that when considering my images, viewers will experience a similar sense of discovery applicable to their own lives.
