1/2019 - Still a "Regular Ol' Dude," now retired, and while I foresee getting back into the workforce, hopefully, it'll be something with a little less stress than what I was accustomed to over the last 27+ years... In retirement, and having the ability to slow down a bit, I took a self - assessment, and I realized that I was not as encouraging to as many people as I could have been, so a life change was in order!

I am deliberate in working to keep things positive and upbeat, (not just here, but throughout!) and with more unhampered time at my disposal, I comment freely, but always sincerely. I am well appreciative of your work, and in many ways I am inspired by it, while still trying to keep an eye of my own. It is always a great pleasure to interact with you via your work and your most generous comments, and it is wonderful to get a glimpse of the many places and the many things that I may never see otherwise.

Late in 2018, I began to dabble in LE, and I am looking to continue that into 2019, and I still need to work on slowing down... Well wishes for a happy and prosperous 2019 to everyone! Cheers.

1/2018 - Regular Ol' Dude who enjoys photography and the "digital darkroom!" Photography is freeing to me - I don't really have to create anything because it's already there. I just go, rig in hand and the end result is what I saw, but how I saw it in my mind's eye...

Architecture, Landscape and Macro are my favorites, and like many, I have a few standing "personal themes" that I look to develop/work on when I am out, and when I find that I am not able to "get out" for a period of time, I try to re - visit some of my older stuff and take a look at it with a fresh eye.

With that, it is not unusual that you may see a years old photo in my stream that was recently worked. As I've looked at "my stuff" through the years now, there are some frames where I've asked myself, why did I even release the shutter?! It's those types of things that I am looking to learn from as I continue on this journey...

Thanks to everyone who has read this far! I am encouraged, and believe me, I am having some fun with photography. If you are so inclined to finish this out, some have asked about my wide crop ratio - it came about as a challenge from my oldest son, who provoked me to "see differently" some time ago, and I just ran with it, for better or for worse.

After using the wide crop for a number of years, it's the first view I see when I bring the viewfinder to eye! For 2018 I plan to do more 1:1 and I am getting my first set of 6 and 10 stop neutral density filters to see how that works out for me - it will certainly get me to the tripod more, and of course, it will slow me down a ton, which for me, will be a good thing. All the best to you. Cheers.
