Hello Everyone. Your comments and faves are always welcome and appreciated. I certainly enjoy looking at every ones photos from around the world. As for my photos, most of what you will see in my photostream are taken in my backyard. It is kinda funny how one hobby (butterfly gardening) led to another... Taking photographs.

 

My husband and I love nature and have worked for several years to create a habitat that will attract butterflies and birds to our yard. The birds really seem to like it here, some are here year round and others stop in during migration. The butterfly activity here is pretty amazing too. During the summer months there are an extraordinary amount of butterflies flitting about the yard. I host at least 11 varieties of butterflies and there is plenty of nectar for all of them to enjoy.

 

Anyway, I am off to make some sort of enhancement to my yard to encourage nature or to take photos of the beauty that surrounds me.

I only know Bev from Flickr but it is very clear how much she loves nature and especially the wildlife that visits her yard . A yard that she gets the correct plants for the visiting butterflies ,collects their eggs and hatches them safely releasing back into the wild .She watches her young birds to make them as safe as she can and worries about them when she is uncertain . Bev then takes wonderful images of (mostly) life in her yard and tells us in a lovely story like way what is going on. Perhaps others who may not have done so will be inspired and follow her lead .
