I am mostly a painter with an existential approach influenced by photo realism. I have been an art instructor.( MFA, MA) for most of my career. AND.....

While looking for another creative niche in the digital arts world I came upon mobile art/photo manipulation as I was trying different art apps on my iPad. I discovered that I have a marked preference for drawing and working directly on the screen of an iPad rather than relying on the indirectness of a graphics tablet for digital creations and thus was born this new avenue of creativity.

I am approaching mobile art as a format for creative exploration without having to adhere to a particular style or expectations of any kind at this point. I believe mobile art can be just as much a conduit for good art as any medium, it depends on ones intent. The work or image is what counts no matter what medium. For me, mobile art/photography has provided wonderful assesability, capture and creative edit capabilities through its many apps with a share immediacy that I enjoy.

Hopefully some of what you see will suggest a story or spark your imagination or thought while noting that some things are simply studies or experiments.

Although I have had several courses in photography I have never been a serious practicing photographer per say. I use photography as a means to an end of the existential in my paintings and for mobile art in particular as an artistically interpretive approach to that that I see. I'm not sure where I will go with this new medium but it is a refreshing creative outlet.

It is wonderful to see all of the interested parties that are promoting mobile photo/art and giving it import.

l have included the mobile medium in the art classes I teach at my school & for community art classes because I have become enthralled by all this medium can do beyond your average photoshop program in a sometimes more direct ,simple & artistic way.
