First of all, I'm not “the” Andy Rouse - world renowned wildlife photographer, but an amateur who’s come late to the social media photography party – but better late than never!

I've dabbled with photography for more years than I care to remember but not on a serious level. I’ve always enjoyed travel and since getting married I (we) have endeavoured to see the world. Cities tend to feature frequently in our destination choices (could be something to do with the shopping opportunities!) but we have ventured into the wilderness on occasions but alas pre-digital and a lot of snapshots not worthy of posting.

I've had Canon EOS SLR cameras since the late 80s but finally took the leap in late 2013 and purchased a full frame model – EOS 5D MkIII. Now I don’t have any excuses... it’s just a case of getting out there and using it, although in my defence, editing software is my next big challenge.

If you’re reading this, you must have come across some of my images or photostream and noticed the city break/holiday travels theme, but I hope to change this as I develop my skills and sense of direction! I do like architecture and cityscapes, but my interest in photography really stems from landscapes, which is somewhat lacking from my photostream... a New Year’s resolution for 2016.

I haven’t quite found my own subject matter or style yet, but I hope you find my efforts enjoyable and inspiring as I find yours...
