Thank you for stopping by my photostream and being a member of the Flickr community. The Flickr community has given me the opportunity to view so many different styles and has inspired me to stretch my photography skills.

I have always enjoyed photography, historically, viewing other people’s work. It wasn't until 2013 that I was able to justify the expense of getting my first DLSR, a D3200 twin lenses kit. At first, I thought it was a big mistake because the photo’s I was taking could only be described as awful compared to my point and shoots (in hindsight the point and shoots weren't much better).

I am truly thankful to Adelaide photographer, Geoff Thompson, for taking the time to explain the basic functions of a DSLR and the exposure triangle. The couple of hours that Geoff spent coaching me, gave me enough knowledge to allow me to develop further, thanks to the world of YouTube. (I would also like to thank my family for putting up, I mean, supporting me with my pursuits)

Again, thanks to the world of You Tube, I was able to learn from others and put together a view of my dream kit. Without getting into the nuts and bolts or arguments about brands I shoot with;

• Nikon D800E

• Nikkor 24-70

• Nikkor 70-200

• Nikkor 14-24

• Nikkor 50mm

• Nikkor 105mm macro

I like to shoot all form of subjects, however, it is without a doubt that my passion is landscape photography. It is also fair to say that my passion (obsession, addiction) with photography has helped open my eyes to the world around me and the beauty that it beholds. I think the simplest way to express how I view the many facets of photography is through my favorite photography quotes;

1.‘You don’t take a photograph, you make it.’ (Ansel Adams)

2.‘A good photograph is knowing where to stand.’ (Ansel Adams)

3.‘The negative is the equivalent of the composer's score and the print the performance.’ (Ansel Adams)

4.‘Landscape photography is the supreme test of the photographer - and often the supreme disappointment’ (Ansel Adams)

5.'Photography helps people to see.' - Berenice Abbott

6.‘A camera is a tool for learning how to see without a camera.’ (Dorothea Lange)

7.‘Notebook. No photographer should be without one.’ (Ansel Adams)

8.‘Photography is my meditation.’ (Czar Anthony Lopez)

9.‘Buying a Nikon doesn't make you a photographer. It makes you a Nikon owner’. (Author Unknown)

10.‘Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships.’ (Ansel Adams)
